Clients receive direct telephone and email access to their attorney, candid case assessments, and clear written communication at every procedural milestone.

Texas Bar No. 24043266

Co-Founder Trial Attorney

Njeri London co-founded L and L Law Group, PLLC alongside Reggie London to deliver attentive criminal defense across North Texas. Her practice is rooted in disciplined preparation, meticulous discovery review, and consistent client communication, supported by a defined in-house trial team rather than outsourced contract attorneys — the components that turn a defense file into a defensible record.

Njeri represents clients in state matters across Collin, Denton, Dallas, and Tarrant counties, with select federal representation. She handles the full criminal docket from misdemeanor traffic-stop charges through felony indictments, drug offenses, family violence, theft, assault, sex offenses, and white-collar matters.

Her courtroom work emphasizes structured cross-examination, evidentiary motion practice under Texas Code of Criminal Procedure article 38.23 and Federal Rule of Evidence 702, and clear, calibrated jury argument. Outside of trial, she focuses on negotiating pretrial dispositions that protect clients’ employment, immigration status, and professional licensure.

Senior Trial Attorney

Texas Bar No. 03967500

BOARD CERTIFIED · CRIMINAL LAW (TBLS) BOARD CERTIFIED · CRIMINAL APPELLATE LAW (TBLS) Senior Trial Counsel

Michael R. Casillas is a Senior Trial Attorney at L and L Law Group, PLLC, with more than three decades of experience representing clients in complex and high-stakes criminal cases. Licensed in Texas since 1991, Michael has built a distinguished career focused on criminal trial and appellate advocacy at both the state and federal levels.

He is Board Certified in both Criminal Law and Criminal Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization — a dual specialization held by only a small percentage of Texas attorneys. The designation reflects advanced expertise, substantial trial and appellate experience, and demonstrated knowledge of criminal procedure tested through peer review, written examination, and case-load substantiation.

Michael earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law and began his legal career within the criminal justice system, building practical insight into both trial and appellate practice. Over the course of his career he has handled a wide range of criminal matters and has experience litigating cases at the trial level and on appeal — including admissions to the United States Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

His courtroom work pairs methodical case analysis with structured challenge to the State’s evidence and tailored defense strategy aimed at dismissals, favorable resolutions, or trial verdicts. His appellate background strengthens his ability to identify legal issues early, preserve them on the record through written motion practice, and frame them for review — an added layer of protection that often shapes the trial strategy itself.

As Senior Trial Attorney, Michael plays a key leadership role within the firm, contributing to complex case strategy and mentoring trial counsel to ensure consistency in preparation and courtroom execution across the firm’s docket.

100+ FELONY JURY TRIALS · STATE & FEDERAL Senior Trial Counsel Former Prosecutor

Elaine Weathers is a Senior Trial Attorney at L and L Law Group, PLLC, with decades of experience in criminal law and a reputation for skilled, results-driven courtroom advocacy. With a career spanning more than 30 years, Elaine brings the depth of trial knowledge that complex felony cases demand.

Elaine earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama School of Law and was admitted to practice law in 1989. She later became licensed in Texas in 2005, where she has continued to focus her practice on criminal defense across state and federal courts.

Earlier in her career, Elaine served as an Assistant District Attorney, where she prosecuted criminal cases and gained insight into how the State builds charging decisions, evaluates evidence, and presents cases at trial. That dual-perspective foundation — both prosecutorial and defense — informs her current case-analysis discipline. After her time as a prosecutor she transitioned into criminal defense, where she has spent the majority of her career representing individuals accused of state and federal offenses.

She has tried well over 100 felony jury trials, along with numerous misdemeanor and juvenile cases, making her a seasoned and confident presence in the courtroom. Her trial background, combined with advanced prosecutorial training — including programs at institutions such as Northwestern University and the National Advocacy Center — informs her approach to challenging the State’s evidence and presenting cases to a jury.

In addition to her litigation work, Elaine has contributed to the legal field by teaching college-level courses in criminal law, evidence, and civil procedure — reflecting both mastery of the subject and a commitment to mentorship.

At L and L Law Group, Elaine is known for thorough preparation, commanding courtroom presence, and steady commitment to her clients. She understands the consequences that criminal charges carry and focuses on protecting clients’ rights, freedom, and future — whether through pretrial negotiation or full jury trial.

As a criminal defense attorney, Ms. Armstead is a dedicated advocate who works diligently on behalf of her clients and operates from the premise that everyone deserves a fair process and an informed defense.

Understanding that no two cases are alike, she approaches every client and every case with individualized attention. Her role extends beyond pure legal representation — she works to ensure that prosecutors and courts see her clients as whole people, not just the allegations against them.

Ms. Armstead is known for her integrity, transparency, and client-centered approach. She is committed to guiding her clients through every stage of the legal process, providing candid advice and clear communication so they can make informed decisions about their cases.

Her practice primarily focuses on Collin County and the surrounding areas, and she is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas. She handles both adult and juvenile criminal matters.

OPERATING PRINCIPLE

Why our team approach matters

In many firms, retained clients are reassigned to less senior attorneys after the engagement is signed, or the work is quietly farmed out to contract counsel the client never met. At L and L Law Group, PLLC, your case stays in-house. The founding partner you consult with oversees your matter, and the trial team that supports it is a known, consistent group of L and L attorneys — not borrowed associates and not unfamiliar substitute counsel.

No outside or contract counsel

Your matter is handled by L and L Law Group attorneys — the trial team you can read about on this page. We don’t farm work out to contract counsel, freelance attorneys, or anyone outside the firm. The founding partners oversee case strategy and remain personally accountable for the outcome.

Direct phone & email access

You receive the direct cell number and direct email of the founding partner handling your case. Communication does not route through an intake coordinator, paralegal, or shared inbox.

Senior trial counsel on the team

Board-certified senior trial counsel sit on the firm roster — not as outside hires — and join the case file on complex felony, federal, and appellate matters, with founding-partner oversight maintained on every retained engagement.

Written strategic plan within 14 days

Within 14 days of retention you receive a written strategic plan: identified motions, projected timeline, anticipated discovery disputes, and the trial-versus-plea posture under the available facts. The plan is revised as the case develops.
